Sibutramine Hydrochloride is discontinued (DEA controlled substance). It is a 5-HT and noradrenalin re-uptake inhibitor. It produces weight loss in rats via inhibition of food intake and increased energy expenditure. It exhibits anorectic properties, which induces increased energy expenditure and weight loss.
